For anyone who is interested in microblading but isn’t quite sure how it all works, here is some useful information for you!
Are you fed up of spending time drawing your eyebrows on and getting them symmetrical? Are your eyebrows patchy, thin, overplucked or just not how you'd like them? Do you wish you had fuller, thicker, shapely eyebrows that didn't wash off or smudge? If you answered yes, then microblading is for you!
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattoo. It does not go as deep as a 'normal' tattoo, and uses organic pigments that break down naturally in your skin over time rather than tattoo ink, and because of this, is semi-permanent with annual top ups being needed and recommended (as with any cosmetic tattoo) to keep the results crisp and vibrant. The treatment is a two-step process which involves an initial appointment and a 4 - 6 week touch up appointment, with some clients needing a second touch up appointment depending on their skin type. The treatment is not complete until you have attended your touch up appointment. The form of microblading I do is not with a machine, but with a handheld pen-like device which holds tiny sterile disposable needles. These needles are used to scratch the surface of the skin to create fine lines in which pigment is deposited. This creates natural looking hairstrokes to give the appearance of thicker, fuller eyebrows bespoke to your own face. Shading can also be added between the hairstrokes to give a more defined look.
Microblading suits a number of different customers; those looking to thicken and define their natural brows, or those who have very sparse or no hair at all. Results vary depending on your skin type, but microblading usually lasts between 9 and 18 months before needing to be touched up.
